The Shrike ::concept::

If you've ever read any of the Hyperion novels by Dan Simmons (which you should -- they're good!!!) then you'll know what the Shrike is. It's a...erm....uhh...being/creature/robot/go d that can manipulate time and is essentially a metal thornbush with 4 arms and lots of teeth. At least, that's what I remember but it's been a year and a half since I read the first two books.

Anyways, I *hated* the design the book's cover artist came up with!! It looked like somebody had glued a bunch of shiny junk together in a vaguely man-shaped mass, and was very ungainly (this is a thing that's supposed to be lithe and -fast-). So. I was toying around with different designs.

Maybe I'll make a litho or something with it.
