Artist's Comments
I don't know why I titled it "Viola One", because I don't intend there to be a "Viola Two"...hmm...
It's my viola  as an aluminum plate lithograph. The music below it -- not that anyone cares -- is the first page from the viola part to Dvorak's "New World" Symphony that I'm playing this Saturday. This stupid thing took about three weeks...because I could only work on it on Thursdays and part of my Fridays. Probably about 12 hours' worth of work. This is the actual drawing, not the print. I'm printing it tomorrow...this is to have a record of how it really looked, before I print it and the printing process decides what to make out of my drawing  . It's my first Al Plate Litho, so I'm kinda paranoid. +Korn litho crayons #5,#4,#2+ +Digital camera, once again+ |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. i love how you used pencil (?) to emphasize the soft shadows and subtle tones of the viola. the gentle gradient from the bottom of the picture to the top is especially nice, and i like the contrast between the complicated notes on the score as to the laquered wood.

In lithography we only use grease crayons, so that's what it's drawn with. They come in hardness levels like pencils, though...#5 being the hardest.
